Solar Panels

Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels accept light emitted by the sun onto crystallized semiconductor surface (silicon) and transfer the energy into an electric current. The crystals, backed by wiring, channel the electricity from an array of panels to an inverter that converts the direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) making it useful to the building occupant. Solar power does not replace conventional sources of electricity but introduces less reliance and eventually lower costs. It does not produce carbon dioxide or other toxic emissions, so its makes our planet safer.

The equipment is expensive. A typical multi-crystalline array that has 100 kW of generating capacity costs $500,000 installed. Importantly the panels must be attached to the roof in a manner that doesn’t fly away, doesn’t create water leaks, supports the panels in wintry conditions, and navigates roof obstructions and shadows. E2S uses only the highest quality components from the industry leaders in the business the longest.

There are two types of arrangements the installer has with the building occupant. One is to sell the equipment to the building owner who takes responsibility for arranging credits with the local utility, insurance, taxes, and maintenance. The other is for the installer (or third party) to own the equipment, make all arrangements, and simply sell the electricity generated at a negotiated rate to the occupant thru a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).  E2S will operate in either capacity.

Energy Efficiency & Home Performance

Would you go outside in a Cleveland winter without a coat?

Your house shouldn’t either.

The average household spends almost $2,000 a year on energy for their homes. This includes things like heating and cooling as well as kitchen appliances and other devices. In total, Americans spend over $200 Billion a year on household energy use and that’s a figure from back in 2005. (The last year this data was available.)  Many of our homes weren’t insulated properly, have inadequate windows, and cracks where heat in the winter and cool air in the summer escape to the outside. This costs us money and that money adds up, especially with heating and cooling costs going up. Let E2S weatherize your home and save as much as 30% on heating and cooling.
